Secretary of Defense Gates said that GITMO is an excellent facility for keeping the terrorists BUT it needs to be closed because its "image its tainted".
Who has done the tainting? Obama, Pelosi, the Left in this country, some radical Spanish judges, Hollywood crowd, and so on.
In other words, Obama wants to close GITMO in order to pander to the Europeans and the Left, even though it makes practical sense to keep GITMO open from a security standpoint.
Others have testified how the Islamic Terrorist prisoners are treated better at GITMO than are prisoners in maximum security prisons in the U.S.
Obama's speech on this matter was a total fraud in which he was acting like a left-wing ACLU attorney arguing for perceived Terrorists rights rather than being presidential and having American lives and security as his top priority.
