Remember the Bush War on Terrorism?

Remember how Obama repeatedly blasted Bush for the methods created for the War on Terrorism including: (1) The Patriot Act, (2) wiretaps without court approval each time, (3) email intercepts for suspected terrorists (4) rendition (5) taking prisoners in Iraq and holding them without criminal trials, (6) use of drones to bomb terrorist locations risking collateral damage, (7) suspending Habeas Corpus, (8) keeping GITMO open, (9) planning to keep U.S. troops in Iraq for several years beyond the summer of 2009, (10) investigating home-grown terrorism as violating the privacy of U.S. citizens.
WAIT A MINUTE! These are the same things that Obama is now using and claiming are necessary for the security of this country. President Slick pulled another "now you see it, now you don't trick" on his swooning admirers.

Cash for Clunkers - Typical Bad Government Forecast

Obama tries to turn this debacle of "Cash for Clunkers" into a victory. The administration couldn't get it right in its forecast of costs for a simple $1 billion program, running out of funds in less than 1/4 of the projected time. Meanwhile, Obama wants us to buy into a government-run health care system, that is far far more complex to run than Cash for Clunkers, and is supposed to cost a $100 billion per year. Applying the same ratio, the government would run out of money for government health care in each calendar year at about the end of March and spend at least $400 billion per year instead of $100 billion per year. This is the Change We Can Believe In.
The Teleprompter President also gets on television and talks about having people not get into credit card crises anymore. Meanwhile, the administration induces people to make car purchases with the Cash for Clunkers program; getting many to make big car loans for new cars. Many of these buyers would be much better off driving their depreciated clunkers and saving the cost of a new car that they don't really need. But, then again, Obama needs to prop up his automobile company, Government Motors.

Dangerous Censorship of Congressional Opponents to Government Health Care Bill

Pelosi and Democrats in the House are using committee rules in an unprecedented way to actually censor free speech of Republicans and those who oppose Government-run health care. All members of Congress have "franking privileges", which means they can mail newsletters to their constituents about what is going on in Congress with the postage paid by the congressional budget. The free mailings are not allowed to be for campaigning but, other than that, opposition or support of bills is allowed.
Pelosi is using the "Franking Committee" which approves the free mailing to CENSOR Republican opposition to Obama's health care plan.
One Republican congressman described the health plan as "Democrat sponsored government run health care" and was told by Pelosi that he had to use the phrase "majority sponsored public health option" or his franking privilege would be revoked.
Another Republican congressman wanted to use an exact quote from Obama, which said in effect that to save cost some Medicare patients would have to forego surgery and use pills to control pain. Pelosi told this congressman that he could not use that statement from Obama or he would lose his franking privilege.
Without the franking privilege, congressmen would have to pay for the mailings themselves which is not a practical option.
This is a very dangerous path we are being taken along by Pelosi, Obama and the Liberal Democrats. It overrides the First Amendment to the Constitution, allowing free speech and substitutes Pelosi-Speak. It violates the most basic principle of this country in order to make a power grab by Pelosi and the Liberal Democrats; there is nothing "liberal" about censorship. Of course, socialism is more often than not, practiced in dictatorships rather than in democracies.

Some Facts About An Actual Government Health Care System.

(a)for some breast and stomach cancers, drugs Lapatinab and Sutent that prolong life are not allowed, too expensive;
(b)for terminally ill kidney-cancer patients, drug Sutent that would help, deemed to expensive for use for most patients;
(c) for macular degeneration, effective drug Macugen banned from use, too expensive, and drug Lucentis restricted to about 20% of cases due to high cost, and then for only one eye, so sufferers would go blind in other eye;
(d) for Alzheimer patients, drug Aricept when used in early stages can delay disease, ruled not cost effective for early use
(e) for rheumitoid arthritis, drug Kineret prohibited from use because of cost
(f) for back pain, surgeries and steroid injections procedures greatly restricted due to cost, government says take a pain pill;
(g) for women seeking fertility treatments, restrictions to a limited few due to cost;
(h) for women who developed cervical cancer, pap smear testing that may have caught the onset of cancer had been denied to reduce government spending.
The government in the U.K. has a concept of a "quality adjusted life year" where bureaucrats decide that they cannot afford to spend more than $22,000 to extend a life by six months, and the bureaucrats decide the liklihood of the life extension period, not the doctors.
In Britain, for 2008, cancer survival rates are among the worst in Europe and five year survival raes are well below those in the United States, 84% vs 73% for breast cancer and 92% vs 57% for prostate cancer.
With Obama's "government option" single payer system (which will encompass today's Medicare and Medicaid patients), the government will tell you who is too old or too young or too sick to receive full care; you may not be a cost effective patient, so just suffer or die.
You can be sure that Congress and Obama will not personally be limited to this kind of health care.

They Need to Teach Arithmetic at Harvard Law School

Evidently, you don't need to know arithmetic to graduate from Columbia University or to get into Harvard Law School.
Obama said he would cut the Bush deficit (about $450 billion in the last year) in half which would be about $225 billion, but instead he has a budget deficit of over $1.8 trillion. Obama's deficit is four times that of Bush' deficit and eight times what Obama promised.
Obama said that the Stimulus Bill was needed immediately in order to limit unemployment to 8 million, it is now over 9.5% and climbing. WHERE ARE THE JOBS? There has been no stimulus from the Stimulus Bill which turned out to be filled with every bad spending idea and pork project from the Liberals who couldn't get these ideas passed under previous presidents. Obama doesn't seem to know that 9.5% is greater than 8%, the difference being about 20% or 2.6 million fewer Americans working than Obama promised.
Obama said his National Health Care plan would be paid for by cutting $2 trillion over ten years from the healthcare industry. Actual identified potential savings over ten years, from pharmaceutical companies and hospitals, are $230 billion. This is a factor of almost nine times less than what he promised. Obviously, the difference will come in the form of increased taxes and decreased medical services.
Here are some opportunities for Obama to "recalibration" his promises.

Obama's Contribution to Political Correctness

We must give credit to Obama when credit is due.
Politically correct (PC) phrases have worked their way into schools, the workplace, the media and political speeches for the past few decades. Some PC talk has stuck with us and other has fallen by the wayside for most as just too phony. So, a ghetto is an "ethnically homogeneous area", a short person is "height challenged", old people are "chronologically challenged", censorship is "selective speech", a housewife is a "domestic engineer", coming in last in a contest makes you "the last winner" and so on.
Thanks to Obama we now have two new phrases to add to politically correct speak. When you lie, exaggerate, distort or give an uninformed opinion, instead of apologizing and admitting you were wrong, you have created a "TEACHABLE MOMENT" whereby you have the opportunity to "RECALIBRATE" your words.
These Obamaisms are perfect for all politicians and have the chance of working their way into other parts of society.
In his one-half year in office, Obama has had one "teachable moment" after another, but he hasn't always taken the opportunity to "recalibrate" his words. We look forward to more "recalibration" like on national health care, Cap and Trade, budget deficits, increased taxes and more.

Obama Condemns Cambridge Police As Acting Stupidly, But...

There was an incident in Cambridge MA. a day ago. A Cambridge Sargent in full uniform answered a 911 call of burglary in progress where it turned out that a Black Harvard professor was trying to force his way into the back door of his own home because the door was apparently stuck. All of the details of who said what to whom are under investigation but the culmination was that the Black professor was arrested by the White officer for disorderly conduct and was later released with charges dismissed.
Meanwhile Obama, who by his own claim, is supposed to transcend racial politics and be the president of all people, and incidentally also be the chief law enforcement officer of this nation, decided to weigh in with an opinion of the incident at a press conference yesterday.
Obama doesn't know when to keep his mouth shut and we learned a little more about his racial politics by his comments.
His statement in response to a question was first that he didn't know the facts because he wasn't there (in Cambridge), but then without knowing the facts he jumped right in and condemned the Cambridge Police for "ACTING STUPIDLY".
We don't know who acted stupidly in this incident, but one person who clearly acted stupidly was Obama. Maybe the actions of the Cambridge officer were justified and maybe not and maybe the Harvard Professor was in the right or not. There were at least 8 witnesses at the scene at various times and the story will get straightened out.
Whenever Obama gets caught without a teleprompter, we can continue to see a glimpse of the real man: PETTY, BIASED, EGOTISTICAL, UNIFORMED AND INCOMPETENT.

"Cap and Trade" - Other Countries Dump The Idea Just As Obama Embraces It

Obama and the heads of other countries love to make speeches about the evils of carbon-dioxide emissions, but the reality of limiting emissions on loss of jobs, higher taxes and higher costs have other nations scrambling to circumvent or dump their restrictions on carbon emissions. Perhaps the reality of global warming being dominated by other factors, such as solar flare activity and cosmic radiation variation as they impact cloud formation, is also behind the decisions of other nations but it is not politically correct yet to openly dispute the man-made global warming hoax. Meanwhile, Obama and the Democrats want to penalize this country with a "Cap and Trade" bill that can only drive manufacturing jobs overseas and increase the cost of: (a) heating/air conditioning, (b) gasoline and other fuels (and thus the cost of driving and transportation of goods), (c) food and (d) all manufactured goods.
While Obama is heading us in this direction , Australia and New Zealand have killed some of their carbon-emission control plans and are talking about dumping others, Germany is exempting much of its industry including steel and cement from the EU's restrictions, Italy has formulated its own clause for not complying with the EU guidelines, China (the world's largest emitter of greenhouse gases) refuses to agree to any severe restrictions that will hamper its industries and India (another major emitter), as well as other developing nations refuse to have their economic growth deterred by restrictions on emissions. It appears that Obama is trying to enter the arena while everyone else is stampeding out the exit.

Obama Babbles About Health Care Bill

Anyone watching the Obama speeches and press conferences has to be stunned by his total lack of knowledge of what's in the House bill or how health care reform will be paid for. I've watched his performances and have spoken to several others with college or graduate school degrees and no-one can explain what Obama said other than "if we don't change, then things will stay the same"; this is a really deep philosophical point. Obama sticks to his successful campaign mode of using slogans with no information content, double-talking sentences, blaming past administrations for a current bad situation, and attacking any opponents of his plan as using "scare" tactics. This is no surprise. Obama had no actual achievements in his career and clearly never had to delve into details or understand anything complex in his prior positions. But, this is the United States of Celebrities and the American Idol got elected with paper thin knowledge and no experience in accomplishing anything and evidently after one-half of a year in office he still has paper thin knowledge of everything in which he is involved.

Health Care Reform, YES! Obamacare NO!

We need health care reform in several areas that will improve services and perhaps reduce. Some examples are:
1. electronic medical records, 2. much higher penalties for private insurers who deny legitimate claims, 3. tort reform to eliminate frivolous malpractice lawsuits while maintaining legitimate claims with reasonable penalties, 4. allowing small businesses to go out of state for insurance in order to get more competitive bids, 5. vouchers for insurance for those laid off from work while they seek new jobs, 6. vouchers for those that cannot afford insurance but not those who are illegal aliens, those that make over some limit like $75,000 but choose not to buy insurance and not for those who qualify for Medicare, Medicare of SCHIP but have not bothered to sign up.

We don't need Obama's "single payer " plan represented by the "government option" insurance which cannot help but drive private health insurance out of business. Obama has stated he fundamentally believes in a "single payer system" and believes that services, medical tests, drugs and surgeries need to be reduced through government guidelines, so a government bureaucrat will decide what care you can get based upon the government budget for health care. This is the single payer system we see in Canada and the U.K. where many expensive drugs for critical cases are just not available, where there are restrictions on surgeries for back pain, joint replacement and other conditions, where there are months of waiting time for critical tests such as MRIs and CAT scans, where there are months of waiting for critical treatments like radiation therapy and where there are shortages of doctors and nurses because of government caps on fees.

Obama lies when he says "if you like your current health insurance you will be able to keep it". The Obamacare bill working its way through Congress is designed with new restrictions on private insurance and undercutting the cost of private insurance to drive 100 million people with private health insurance to the government subsidized "government option" health plan. Obamacare is not designed to give better health care or even to maintain your current level of health care. It's primary goal is clearly to make everyone dependent on the government for health care.

A Trillion Dollars Here, a Trillion Dollars There

How much is a trillion dollars? It's difficult to comprehend, but here are some comparisons.
A trillion dollars is equal to $3,000 for every man, woman and child in the United States.
A trillion dollars is bigger than the entire Gross Domestic Product (GDP) of Australia.
Obama has a 2009 Fiscal Year (Oct. 1, 2008 to Sept. 30, 2009) of $3.94 trillion compared to only $2.18 trillion of revenue, or a deficit of $1.86 trillion; four times that of the Bush deficit in FY2008.
Obama's programs will continue to run trillion plus deficits for ten years, doubling the National Debt of all other administrations since this country was founded.
Obama and the Democrats created fear and uncertainty with talk of a catastrophe in order to pass the Economic Stimulus Package of $787 billion which has almost no stimulus in it, but contains mostly Congressional Democrats' pet programs on borrowed money.
Obama has continued the ill-conceived Bush TARP program to bailout failed financial institutions, insurance companies and GM, a bill passed with a Democrat Congress, to spend over $700 billion for companies that should have been allowed to fail, but with bailouts Obama gets control of major parts of commerce and manufacturing in the United States.
Obama and the Democrats want to pass the so-called "Cap and Trade" bill to reduce carbon emissions which will cost the American taxpayer over one trillion dollars over ten years through much higher energy costs for little impact on the environment but big profits for special interest companies like GE and individuals like Al Gore.
Obama and the Democrats want to pass a Universal Health Care bill which will cost the American taxpayer a minimum of $1 trillion over ten years (this is what the democrats admit to), but based upon the gross type of underestimates in costs that occurred with Medicare since its inception, Obamacare will csot several trillion dollars over ten years. Obamacare is simply designed to drive out private health insurance, but will not result in lower cost and will restrict health services, medical tests and the availability of life saving drugs as occurs in Canada and England. Obama has said that he believes in "single payer" health system, which means that the government is the "single payer". Obamacare is modeled ,in part, after the Massachusetts' mandatory health insurance plan passed in 2006 which is falling apart because it doesn't control costs, but a state alone cannot force a "single payer" system as can Obama at the federal level.

International Relations - Obama Style - After One-half of a Year

1. Obama was going to smooth talk the Iranian ayatollahs and Ahmedinejad into backing down on their nuclear weapons program through negotiations and taking a soft line. Iran has not delayed their program by one minute. Obama failed!
2. Obama was going to work with other nations to persuade N. Korea to back off on its threats and its programs for atomic bomb testing and missile development and testing. N. Korea has increased its testing programs with Obama in office. In the face of aggression, Obama will talk, appease,ignore, plead, make statements about being displeased and wait to see what's popular. Obama failed.
3. Obama was going to bring the troops home from Iraq in six months according to his campaign promise. We have troops committed in Iraq for several more years. Obama lied.
4. Obama said during his campaign that the "surge in Iraq" was a failure but has now committed 21,000 more troops to a surge in Afghanistan. Obama lied.
5. The Taliban has extended its attacks into Pakistan since Obama took office. Obama has failed to prevent the expansion of the war by Islamic radicals.
6. Obama was going to negotiate a fair nuclear arms reduction treaty with Russia. Obama got out-foxed by the Russians who have many obsolete weapons and obsolete delivery systems that they would have to take out of service in the next few years even without a treaty. But Russia go Obama to agree to major cutbacks in U.S. delivery systems as well. Obama is naive.
7. Obama befriends the lifetime dictator of Egypt, "President" Mubarak, and apologizes for the United States attitude towards Muslims. It's no wonder they cheered Obama in Cairo U. and that Al Qaeda praises him. They love what Obama is doing to take down the prestige of this nation and the weakness he is showing.
8. Obama shows favor to the terrorist Hamas ruled Gaza over the democracy Israel in proposing settlement of conflicts there. Obama's previously proclaimed he would Obama stand by his previous proclamations to "forge partnerships as opposed to simply dictating solutions," as he told the G-20 summit or as he told al-Arabiya, America will henceforth "start by listening, because all too often the United States starts by dictating." This has been Obama's approach to Iran, Russia, Cuba, Syria, and Venezuela. On the other, Obama's claim of an "unbreakable bond" with Israel comes with dictating that Israel freeze all settlement activity. It takes Obama less than 24 hours to side with Zelaya, joining Hugo Chavez of Venezuela and Castro of Cuba who are also supporters of Zelaya.
10. Iran holds a phony election and brutally puts down protestors and Obama takes 7 days to be "concerned".
11. Obama gave speeches with a large collection of criticisms and apologies for America's past actions, blaming Americans for arrogance, being dismissive, being derisive, genocide, torture, Hiroshima, Guantanamo and generally for insufficient respect for the Muslim world, Obama trashed America to gain the cheers of European audiences.
12. Obama made overtures to Russia to help curtail Iran's atomic bomb threat and in exchange he offered to break a promise to Poland and the Czech Republic to place ABMs in their countries, Obama was willing to double-cross America's Eastern European Allies for favor with Russia.
13. . Under general gaffes, stupidity and narcissism in international relations, just imagine the media and press reaction if Bush did any of the following:
(a) Obama gave Gordon Brown a set of inexpensive and incorrectly formatted DVDs, when Gordon Brown had given him a thoughtful and historically-significant gift, (b) Obama gave the Queen of England an iPod containing videos of his own speeches, (c) Obama deeply bowed to the King of Saudi Arabia as showed on TV, an Islamic dictator whose country ignores all human rights, and then Obama had the audacity to lie about it, saying he wasn't bowing, (d) Obama visited Austria and made reference to the non-existent "Austrian language," then brushed it off as a minor slip, (e) Obama trying to be so internationally sophisticated referred to "Cinco de Cuatro" in front of the Mexican ambassador when it was the fifth of May (Cinco de Mayo), and continued to flub it when he tried to correct it, having everyone wincing in embarrassment
WHAT'S OBAMA'S GRADE ON INTERNATIONAL RELATIONS AND FOREIGN POLICY AFTER ONE-HALF OF A YEAR? CLEARLY AN "F", HE FAILS AT EVERY CHANCE!!!

Sotomayor: Great Resume, Poor Judgment

The Senators don't owe any deference to Obama's pick for the supreme Court. Their job is to grill, uncover and get on the record, the social and political views of Sotomayer and to challenge her record where appropriate. This was done by the Democrat Senators to Alito and Roberts. In the end, there is no doubt that Sotomayer will be confirmed: first, because the Democrats control both the Committees and the overall Senate and second, as a matter of practical politics, because the Republicans cannot afford to reject a Latino and a woman. In the twisted politics of this country, the Democrats have optimized playing to special interest groups and so only the Democrats get a pass on challenging and even viciously attacking minority (Alberto Gonzales, Attorney General appointed by Bush) and female candidates (Sarah Palin) for .
In a nonpartisan hearing, Sotomayor would get FAILING GRADES for:
1. her comment made to at least six audiences over a number of years and published once, about a "wise Latino woman" making better decisions than a "White male who hasn't had that experience",
2. her decisions on the Appellate Court being reversed 5 out of 7 cases by the U.S. Supreme Court, where her positions were in the direction of making social policy and not following the Constitution,
3. her position on the Second Amendment which relies on an antiquated 19th century ruling to say that the right to bear arms does not extend to the states and thus to individual citizens; this will reach the Supreme Court when she is a member.

How Will the "Cap and Trade" Bill Affect You?

Some think all the fury about Obama's "Cap and Trade" bill is just political positioning and it will not impact the average American. Wrong! Your life and cost of living will be greatly impacted by the hidden "Cap and Trade" tax. All industries that burn carbon fuels (coal, oil, gas) will see higher costs and these will be passed along to every consumer as higher prices, (effectively a "hidden tax"). Families, farmers and drivers will see higher prices because power bills, heating and cooling bills food prices, other product prices and gasoline prices will all be higher, some much higher, depending on how energy intensive the utility or product is. Why will these utilities and products have increased prices? Local power distributors, natural gas distributors, home heating oil and propane, fuel (oil) refiners, energy intensive industries like heavy manufacturing will all be "capped" on carbon emissions and have to "trade" (purchase) carbon credits from industries that don't use all of their credits. In addition, workers in energy intensive industries will lose jobs to overseas manufacturing which don't have this regressive energy tax; places like India, China and Southeast Asia. This process is open to great political interference and corruption, as politicians can influence which industries get extra carbon credits based upon who contributes to their campaigns. So, the likes of Nancy Pelosi, Barney Frank, Chris Dodd, John Murtha, Harry Reid who have a history of using political influence for pork projects, favored personal loans or legislation to benefit their friends and families, and the White House can manipulate who wins and who loses based upon votes and political support. The bureaucracy around Cap and Trade is enormous, the central agency being the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) which is controlled by a White House appointee. But there is more: an Offsets Advisory Board, a Carbon Market Oversight Interagency Working Group, with input and oversight from the Federal Energy Oversight Commission (FERC), the Commodities Futures Trading Commission (CFTC), the Department of Energy (DOE), the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA), the national Oceanic and Atmosphere Administration (NOAA), the Department of Labor (DOL), the Internal Revenue service (IRS), the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), the Corps of Engineers (CORPS), the Treasury Department, the State Department, the United States Forest Service, the Fish and Wildlife Service (FWS), the National Park Service (NPS), the Bureau of Indian Affairs (BIA), the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS), the Bureau of Reclamation (BUREC) and the Bureau of Land Management, all will be involved in various aspects of Cap and Trade. Is there anyone in their right mind who thinks that "Cap and Trade" with this huge government bureaucracy, great opportunities fro favoritism and fraud and basic goal of increasing the penalty for using carbon based fuels will not greatly increase the cost of living of every American while making a few politically connected companies (like GE) and individuals (like Al Gore) extremely rich?

Obama Proposes Rationing of Hospital Admittance

Obama has declared that the $2.2 trillion spent per year in this country on health care has to be cut. Of course his proposal for universal health care with the "government option" has all sorts of increases in costs of hundreds of billions of dollars. But to cut some costs, Obama wants to reduce the rate of costly re-admissions to hospitals for 30 days after being first released. Obama has stated this will first be done with Medicare patients by limiting reimbursement to hospitals who readmit patients. Obama says this will save $2.6 billion per year of the $2.2 trillion. You can be sure that the readmit restriction will be extended to all covered under the government option and may even be imposed on those having private health insurance, if the latter survives the "government option". So, we have bureaucrats deciding who gets readmitted to a hospital based on cost rather than doctors and patients deciding based upon need. This is rationing of health care and it will only get worse with full Obamacare. Now, it just so happens that an independent study of 2 million Medicare patients who were readmitted to hospitals within 30 days showed that 90% were readmitted as emergencies with the top reasons being heart failure, emphysema, pneumonia and psychotic breakdown. The readmission's were successful in that 93% were alive one year later. How many would have died under Obama's rationing plan if they were forced by bureaucratic rulings to stay at home or at best to go to a hospice? Obama's plan smacks of euthanasia for the elderly, very sick and weak. For those who don't recognize this type of social engineering, it was a basic principle of National Socialism as practiced in Germany in the 1930s and 1940s.

Michael Jackson: The Devil Made Him Do It

Michael Jackson was a great talent which allowed him to break color barriers and open up some previously closed opportunities for Blacks in the entertainment world. It is fair to say that he was an icon of entertainment. But, was his motivation for overcoming discrimination based upon a strong social conscience and a driving desire to achieve equality for Blacks in the entertainment field and beyond? No, there is no nothing in his career to suggest that he was driven by anything more than to be the King of Pop, to be rich and to be idolized by millions of fans, all of which he certainly achieved with stunning success.

Yet, in death Michael Jackson was celebrated for 10 days as though he was Martin Luther King Jr., Jackie Robinson, Elvis Presley and Amadeus Mozart COMBINED. Michael Jackson's addiction to sleeping with children, (whether he sexually molested them is not known), is now dismissed with some psychobabble about an emotional development disorder whereby he never grew up. Jackson was a victim of "arrested development". We can anticipate "arrested development" becoming a defense in criminal trials.

Michael Jackson's addiction to changing his appearance from Black features to White features through multiple cosmetic surgeries and perhaps skin treatments is now dismissed as a psychological disturbance created by abuse from his father. Jackson was a victim of abusive parenting. It's curious that he also chose to have two white wives and children who appear to be White. Is this all supposed to be indications of his Black pride and not just an entertainment icon but a Black entertainment icon who was loaned to people of other color? He seemed to reject being Black.

Michael Jackson's long term addiction to prescription drugs, which many speculate contributed to his death, is now dismissed as being the fault of incompetent personal physicians who provided the drugs and others in his entourage who pressured him into abusing drugs. Jackson was a victim of evil doctors and those taking advantage of him.

These are "The Devil Made Him Do It" excuses and they don't wash. Jackson was a great, one of the best of the last century and broke racial barriers with his enormous talent, but he was hardly a Black leader and hardly a role model for youth of any color.

The Washington Post Got Caught

In the July 6th edition of the Washington Post, the Publisher and CEO, Katherine Weymouth, wrote a column stating how a well intentioned project got off track and got leaked to the public. Actually, the Washington Post got caught pimping for the Obama administration. The Washington Post was planning to arrange private dinner meetings between Obama administration officials and those in industry and commerce seeking special favors or touting special interest positions, reportedly for a fee of $25,000 per person. Weymouth's explanation was as phony and self-serving as that of any crooked politician that gets caught in criminal or unethical behavior; we've all heard the lame excuses of "a mistake" or " a lapse in judgement". This is no surprise, the liberal media has been in the tank for Obama for the past two years. NBC, MSNBC, The New York Times and Washington Post among many others, have been dominated by leftest philosophies for a couple of decades and have abandoned reporting and analyzing the news, criticizing all viewpoints when needed and calling attention to the lies and incompetency of elected officials. Washington Post has sunk to a new low with this latest scheme and deserves to go out of business. The amusing part here is that it took lobbyists, the slimiest group in Washington next to Congress, to blow the whistle on the Washington Post.

Obama Stands with the Wannabee Dictator of Honduras

Iran holds a phony election and brutally puts down protestors and Obama takes 7 days to be "concerned" about this state establishing a lifetime dictator.
Obama bows to, laughs and chats with the lifetime King of Saudi Arabia, an absolute dictator of a nation with no human rights
Obama befriends the lifetime President of Egypt and apologizes for the United States attitude towards Muslims
Now, there is a coup in Honduras because the wannabee dictator President Manual Zelaya proposed to throw out the Honduras constitution and hold an illegal referendum that would allow Zelaya to be re-elected for the rest of his life.
It takes Obama less than 24 hours to side with Zelaya, joining Hugo Chavez of Venezuela, who is on track to be a lifetime dictator, and lifetime dictator Castro of Cuba who are also supporters of Zelaya.
Perhaps Obama likes the idea of tossing out term limits on a presidency!

California Rivals New York State as the Worst

Here are some facts about California:
1. CA is 4th highest of the fifty states in state & local government spending at $10,136 per person per year
2. CA is 2nd highest in state and local income taxes
3. CA is 1st (highest) in state (7.25%) & local sales taxes reaching a total of 9.75% in many areas.
4. CA has a budget deficit of $33.9 billion for fiscal 2010, or about $920 per person even with its outrageous taxes.
5. No surprise that CA is 50th (lowest) in state bond rating.
6. CA is a NON-right-to work state with 20% union workers vs a national average of 13%
7. No surprise, CA is 3rd highest in unemployment at 11.3% vs 9.4% national average
8. No surprise that CA is 2nd highest in workers leaving the state
9. No surprise that CA one-third the job growth over the past decade compared to low unionized states
10. CA is 7th highest in government regulation of health care
11. No surprise that CA has a much higher percentage of uninsured for health care than the national average
Next to New York, California is the worst state in the country in terms of financial health and cost of living.
OBAMA WANTS TO DO FOR THE COUNTRY WHAT CALIFORNIA HAS DONE TO ITSELF

Obama demands TRANSPARENCY in government, UNLESS....

Well, another one in a growing list of Obama's campaign promises turns out to be a lie, this one on transparency in government. Remember how Obama was big on "transparency in government". What Obama meant was that he is for transparency when it supports his agenda but for censorship when it contradicts his agenda. Jim Hansen, a NASA scientist who believes in man-made carbon-dioxide global warming, gave some 1400 speeches about global warming, but still accused the Bush administration of censorship because they didn't accept his conclusions versus those of other scientists. Now, physicist Alan Carlin at EPA's National Center for Environmental Economics, authored a report that argues for taking another look at the man-made carbon-dioxide global warming frenzy, pointing out that temperatures have been going down slightly for the past 11 years, that the climate models for disaster are flawed and that new research contradicts the catastrophe predictions. Obama and his EPA administrator didn't want to hear any of these facts or doubts because they get in the way of Obama and the environmentalists proposed policies. Also endangered by any questioning of man-made global warming is the economic interests of General Electric (a big Obama supporter through its subsidiaries of NBC and MSNBC) with its huge bet on alternative energy and Obama supporter Al Gore who will likely become a billionaire through his personal investments betting on "Carbon Cap and Trade" laws. So, Obama's administrator withheld the report from being issued and told Dr. Carlin not to work on this subject anymore, not after 1400 speeches but after drafting one report. THIS IS CHANGE YOU CAN BELIEVE IN.

"A Wise Latino Woman..."

In the New Haven firefighters case, where Obama's Supreme Court Sotomayor voted as part of an Appellate Court ruling, to throw out promotion test results because only Whites and Latinos, but no Blacks, would have received promotions, the United States Supreme Court over-ruled, by a 5 to 4 vote, the Appellate Court. The broader implication is that this was a vote against Affirmative Action. Maybe that "wise Latino woman" is not all that wise. Fortuneately, Sotomayor will replace one of the four who voted to uphold her Appellate Court runing, so the Court will still have 5 Justices who apply the constitution and four who want to ignore the Constitution and use their "wisdom" to make social policy. Affirmative Action has outlasted its usefulness and moral justification by about two decades. It's about time that the Court put an end to racial quotas and preferences. This is 2009, not 1969, and anyone who can't qualify for a job or promotion or admission to a school based on their innate abilities and self actualization doesn't deserve the slot.
