Afghanistan is a Disaster

Obama had the goal of a fair and open election. Instead, President Karzai and his warlords had a rigged election to maintain total power. Obama had the goal of adding troops to Afghanistan in order to defeat Al Qaeda and find Osama Bin Laden. Instead, we are in a war with the Taliban, and at best at a stalemate, and the war has spread dangerously to Pakistan. It is not possible for Obama to be candid on anything; it is not in his genes. He will search around for the best spin to blame failure in Afghanistan on Bush-Cheney or some other scapegoat. The fact of the matter is that Karzai, like Iran, North Korea, the Hamas in Gaza, Hugo Chavez and every other dictator, terrorist and warlord have no respect or fear of the United States under Obama and they will do as they please.

You Can Try To Dress Up The Pig, But it's Still A Pig

Obama's speech to the Joint Session was the same old dreary message that he has given 111 times before in various news conferences, town hall meetings, talks to special interest groups, talks to unions and other TV speeches.
HE KEEPS TRYING TO DRESS UP THE PIG BUT IT'S STILL A PIG.
1.Obama continues to push for the public option which common sense tells us will inevitably lead to a single-payer government run health care system. The mandates in HR3200 and current industry regulations will drive health care to a government run system.
2. Obama promises that we can retain our current health care provider and level of services when common sense tells us that ObamaCare will lead to rationing in order to partially pay for the government subsidized system.
3. Obama now says that his health care reform will not cover illegal aliens and resident aliens but HR 3200 does not explicitly call for this restriction; common sense tells us that loopholes will allow these groups to be covered.
4.Obama says that bureaucrats will not get in the path between you and your doctor, yet HR3200 creates 54 government agencies; common sense tells us that they will get in the way and, like every government bureaucracy, the costs will be much higher than currently forecast.
5. Obama continues to ignore the opportunities for true reform will lower cost with measures like tort reform, removing state barriers to insurance competition and removing tax barriers that currently work against individuals to purchase their own insurance. Common sense tells us that Obama and the Democrats have been, and still are, in the pocket of the Trial Lawyers Association who oppose tort reform and have made huge campaign contributions to the Democrats over many years. Common sense tells us that health reform without a government run system is not acceptable to Obama only because it will not give Obama and the Democrats the power and control that is their first priority, with all the associated pork spending, favoritism, and opportunities for bribes and rewards to supporters as is happening with the Stimulus Bill.
OBAMA IS A MASTER AT MISINFORMATION. WE HAVE TO WATCH WHAT HE DOES (WITH PELOSI) AND NOT WHAT HE SAYS.
HIS SPEECH ABOUT HEALTH CARE REFORM IS ALL BLATHER, IT'S WHAT IS IN BILL HR3200 THAT MATTERS.

What? Trust the Government With Health Care?

1. The U.S. Postal Service was established in 1775 - government has had 234 years to get it right; it is broke.
2. Social Security was established in 1935 - government has had 74 years to get it right; it is broke.
3. Fannie Mae was established in 1938 - government has had 71 years to get it right; it is broke.
4. The "War on Poverty" started in 1964 - government has had 45 years to get it right; $1 trillion of our money is confiscated each year and transferred to "the poor"; it hasn't worked and our entire country is broke.
5. Medicare and Medicaid were established in 1965 - government has had 44 years to get it right; they are broke.
6. Freddie Mac was established in 1970 - government has had 39 years to get it right; it is broke.
7. Trillions of dollars were spent in the massive political payoffs called TARP, the "Stimulus", the Omnibus Appropriations Act of 2009... none show any signs of working, although ACORN (now hiding under a new name) appears to have found a new massive pipeline for money from the American taxpayer.
8. "Cash for Clunkers" was established in 2009 and went broke in 2009! It took good dependable cars (that were the best some people could afford) and replaced them with high-priced and less-affordable cars, mostly Japanese. A good percentage of the profits went out of the country. And the American taxpayers take the hit for Congress' generosity in burning three billion more of our dollars on another failed experiment.
9. So, with a perfect 100% failure rate and a record that proves that "services" government shoved down our throats are failing faster and faster, Obama and the leftist Democrats want Americans to believe they can be trusted with a government-run health care system; 17% of our entire economy?
The majority of voters bought into Obama's slogans, vagaries and lies in the election and Obama expects he can keep playing the same song over and over now that he is office. He believes that his charm and teleprompter speeches will have the public continue to swoon over him and they will follow like good little sheep. There will continue to be those Obama-ites that stay in denial of the fact that Obama a committed socialist, but the majority of citizens seem to be catching on and rejecting his big-government, big-spending, spread the wealth agenda.

The Myth About United States Health Care Not Being The Best

In a typical Liberal smear campaign, the Liberals have been denouncing health care in the United states as being highest in cost but far down the list in quality. Obama, Pelosi, Waxman and others in Congress repeat the theme of the Michael Moore fantasy movie "Sicko"(no-one can legitimately dignify it by calling it a documentary) that U.S. health care is worse than that in many other countries, including Cuba. One had to wonder why we didn't see Ted Kennedy rush off to Cuba or some other country to get treatment for his brain tumor. Meanwhile, hear are some facts:
1. According to an August 2009 report from the National Bureau of Economic Research, patients diagnosed with cancer in the U.S. have a better chance of surviving cancer than anywhere else.
2. The World Health Organizationalso rates the U.S. No.1 out of 191 countries for responsiveness to the needs and choices of the individual patient.

Ethanol: Bush Plan a Total Failure - This is What Happens When the Government Dictates the Solution

There is no doubt that the U.S. needs to reduce its dependence on oil and particularly on imported oil. A posting of Monday August 10, 2009 recounted the total failure of the Energy Department, set up under Carter, to reduce petroleum imports. The government MANDATE TO USE ETHANOL mixed with gasoline, in order to cut carbon-dioxide emissions, has turned out to be another government fiasco, both technically and economically. This was started in 2005 under Bush as part of the global warming scare and was reinforced under Bush with increased government economic incentives in 2007 and 2008. Biofuels like ethanol made by processing edible products like corn (the U.S.), soybeans and sugar are relatively easy to make, but there is not enough farmland to make fuel without raising the cost of feedstock for animals which, in turn, has raised the price of food. Also, once the total emissions for growing, harvesting and processing of corn to ethanol are counted then there is little, if any, reduction in emissions. The total emissions might even be increased if new land has to be cleared and plant life destroyed to grow the corn.
The government's role should be one of supporting research and development into alternative fuels and energy sources, not dictating the solution. In the case of biofuels, the potential for a major gain is in the processing of cellulose based products, obviously not edible, such as grasslands, wood chips, cornstalks and more. There is an enormous quantity of such products worldwide and the successful processing of cellulose based products into ethanol could replace 50 percent or more of the gasoline used in this country. The problem at present is that it is much more difficult to breakdown the cellulose structure than to breakdown the non-cellulose structures of edible products. Methods for breaking down cellulose waste are being researched using chemicals, high temperatures and living organisms but an economical solution is not in hand. The Bush administration, under pressure from environmentalists, panicked and dictated the answer instead of letting private enterprise find a viable solution and, as is usually the case with government solutions, it was the wrong solution.

Obama Pelosi-Reid Calls for Bipartisanship Are Phony

There is no health care compromise that is acceptable to Obama-Pelosi-Reid.
Their calls for bipartisanship are phony.
Republicans have offered over 800 amendments to the various House and Senate bills and every single one of their proposed amendments has been rejected in Democrat controlled committees.
The House Republicans have submitted HR 3400 (a 268 page proposal), which keeps health care in the hands of patients, as an alternative to the Democrat's HR3200 (1017 pages of obfuscation), which puts health care in the hands of government and bureaucrats.
Pelosi has referred HR3400 to eight House committees which is allowed under the rules and only the Speaker Pelosi can allow the bill to come out of committees.
Guess when this will happen.
When Obama-Pelosi-Reid call for bipartisan support of ObamaCare, they mean shut up and vote for what we want.

Obama's Green Jobs Czar - Van Jones

In April 2009, Obama appointed Van Jones his Green Jobs Advisor (Czar). Van Jones has a history of involvement in, and even founding of, leftist social action community groups particularly with an interest in what he views as environmental justice. The best testament to Van Jones' philosophy and intent is to READ VAN JONES OWN WORDS.
VAN JONES: "In jail I met all these young radical people of color — I mean really radical, communists and anarchists. And it was, like, 'This is what I need to be a part of. I spent the next 10 years (1992-2002) of my life working with a lot of those people I met in jail, trying to be a revolutionary'.... I was a rowdy nationalist on April 28th (1992), and then the verdicts came down on April 29th... by August (1992), I was a communist."
VAN JONES: from a 2005 interview: "I'M WILLING TO FORGO THE CHEAP SATISFACTION OF THE RADICAL POSE FOR THE DEEP SATISFACTION OF RADICAL ENDS."
VAN JONES: "The white polluters and the white environmentals are essentially steering poison into the people of colored communities."
VAN JONES: from a March 2009 speech "This movement is deeper than a solar panel. Deeper than a solar panel. Don't stop there. Don't stop there. No, we're going to change the whole system. We're going to change the whole thing. We're not going to put a new battery in a broken system. We want a new system. We want a new system."
In April 2009, Obama appoints Van Jones as his Green jobs Advisor (Czar) and presents him as some sort of transformed capitalist who will use stimulus money for economic growth.
What we have is Van Jones posing for radical ends.
